Born and bred in the northern island of Penang, Robin juggles equally between performing and teaching. With a keen interest in the vocal repertoire, his performances over the past decade have been chiefly with singers. He is now exploring more chamber music and has co-founded Anjung Trio with violinist Mabel Wong and violist Andrew Filmer. The trio has performed, presented lecture-recitals and conducted workshops at Bentley Music Academy, Sunway University and in platforms such as the Euroasia Youth Music Festival, Johor Bahru Arts Festival and Classical Music Festival.
When not playing with colleagues, Robin is often engaged to coach and accompany young musicians for exams and competitions.
A dedicated educator, Robin’s philosophy centers on healthy fundamental training, and specializes in correctional work including re-training and rehabilitation.
He teaches at Bentley Music Academy where his students range from young beginners to mature adults, experienced pianists with weak facilities to pain inflicted ones.
