Born in 2003, Kwan Yee started her piano lessons at the age of 5. At the age of 8, she gained her Grade 5 piano examination with distinction and received a Certificate of Excellence by Trinity College London. In 2012, she was selected as 1 of 34 Malaysians to attend the OWMPA (Overseas Malaysian Winter Piano Academy) at Yehudi Menuhin School, United Kingdom. In 2013, Kwan Yee completed her Grade 8 piano examination with distinction. After achieving the LTCL Diploma (Trinity College London) in 2014, she obtained her FTCL Diploma within a year. She was also recognised by The Malaysia Book of Records for being the Youngest to Complete Highest Piano Exam Level at the age of 11. Kwan Yee was selected to participate in the Permata Seni Muzik programme, a governmentfunded project and earned a seat in the Malaysia Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO) in 2017.
She has performed solo and piano duet with Datuk Mokhzani Ismail in Malaysia Book of Records Achievers Night and Konsert Perdana 100 Tahun Pandu Puteri Malaysia (live in TV1) in 2016. She was also invited to perform at Trinity College London Diploma Conferment Ceremony.
In 2018, Kwan Yee performed Medtner Piano Concerto No.1 with Malaysia Philharmonic Youth Orchestra under Maestro Naohisa Furusawa. She also performed Chopin Piano Concerto No.1 (chamber version) with MPYO in 2019. Later in 2019, she was invited to perform in Malaysian Piano Competition Gala Concert. She has participated in masterclasses with Andrew Ball, Anthony Hewitt, Murray McLachlan, Lluis Rodriguez Salva, Sun Yu Wen, Akiko Danis and Misa Yamamoto, to name a few.
