Xiu Hui began her musical journey with the violin and picked up the piano later on. Two years after Xiu Hui completed her grade 8 in 2018, she went on to study with Angel Lee and is currently pursuing her Diploma in Music at the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA), majoring in violin.
2022 was an eventful year for Xiu Hui – her first competitive experience at the Euroasia Youth Music Festival in 2022 won her second prize at the Violin Grade 8 Division, and later on, she was awarded second prize at the Euroasia Strings Competition, Age 18 and Above Division. Xiu Hui was also invited to join the Euroasia Sinfonia as one of its founding members.
In 2023, Xiu Hui participated in the Euroasia Youth Music Festival 2023 String Division- Diploma Category and was awarded first prize. In June, she performed in the Le French Festival 2023 Concert: Bijoux Francais II. Xiu Hui had her first soloist experience with the Oundle School Music UK string orchestra in October. In November, she performed in the Malaysian Institute of Art Music Departmental Concert 2023.
Xiu Hui attended masterclasses with Dr Andrew Filmer, Japanese violinist Saori Nakazawa, French violinist Ms Helene Bordeaux, Sir Augus Gibbon- Head of Strings of Oundle School United Kingdom and Mr Gabriel Lee- Adjunct Faculty at the YST conservatory of music.
