
Lee Xin Yi Joyce is a pianist, educator, and international music examiner for Trinity College London. She holds a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours and a Master’s Degree in Performance and Musicology from the National University of Ireland. Awarded the prestigious John and Pat Hume Doctoral Scholarship, she pursued her Ph.D. studies at the National University of Ireland and the University of Vienna, focusing on the early piano works of Franz Schubert under the guidance of Professor Lorraine Byrne Bodley. Joyce trained with renowned musicians and educators, including Dr. Fionnuala Moynihan, Dr. Una Hunt, Dr. Alison Hood, Dr. Antonio Cascelli, Dr. Martin Fahy, and Derek Martin.
Joyce has performed as a solo pianist in Ireland, the UK, and Malaysia, and has participated in various musical ensembles, such as the Maynooth Choral Society and the chamber orchestra at Dundalk Institute of Technology as a violinist. As a composer, her original composition for string trio, Antithesis, was performed by members of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. Her scholarly work in Schubert Studies has been presented at notable institutions, including Trinity College Dublin, the Jagiellonian University of Kraków, and Queens University Belfast. She was also invited by the Routledge Publishers in New York to contribute to the Routledge Music Bibliography Series with a volume on Franz Schubert. In recognition of her contributions to music in higher education, Joyce was awarded a Certificate of Achievement by the Irish Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O’Sullivan TD.
